Friday Night Lights will be broadcast from the very start on Sky Atlantic, starting 14th February at 8PM. Considering the way UK TV treated this show back when it first started (they buried season two at 1AM, two years after season one was shown) it's great that it's finally getting a chance to shine on a channel which won't mess it around.

Stars Rihanna, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård and Brooklyn Decker will unveil clip during ‘MTV First’ at 7:56 p.m. ET Monday.

We still have a few more weeks to wait to find out which “Battleship” castmember utters the immortal phrase “You sunk my Battleship!” So in the meantime, we’re offering up the exclusive premiere of a very special new clip from the film, along with the stars themselves, for “MTV First: Battleship.”

Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna and Brooklyn Decker will hit MTV’s airwaves Monday, April 30, at 7:56 p.m. ET to premiere the exclusive clip, after which they will stick around for a meaty 30 minutes of Q&A on MTV.com hosted by MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. Fans can get in on the action immediately by submitting video or text questions via MTV.com or via Twitter (using @MTVNews, hashtag #MTVFirst or #AskBattleship). During “MTV First,” the four stars will also answer your Twitter questions and dish on the very latest news.

“Battleship” promises to be a true summer blockbuster in every way. It is an action-packed event movie with an A-list and very attractive cast.

“The movie is really the story of a younger brother (Kitsch) trying to grow up and be a man like [his older brother (Skarsgård)],” director Peter Berg told MTV News. “There just happens to be an alien invasion in the middle of it.”

The “Friday Night Lights” director also promised that despite the “Transformers” comparisons, his film is “completely different.”

“I think ‘Transformers’ is awesome,” Berg said. “I think [director Michael] Bay did an incredible job with that film and I think when you sit through 4 minutes of ‘Battleship,’ you’ll realize that they are two completely different experiences.

“Obviously, our big bosses who are concerned with making their money back have a vested interested in attaching themselves to other successful films. We don’t think about that; we think about making our own movie, and I’m pretty confident that whether you love ‘Battleship’ or not, the issue of comparison to other films is pretty irrelevant.”

The film hits theaters across the country May 18.

Don’t forget to join Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna, Alexander Skarsgård and Brooklyn Decker for “MTV First: Battleship” on Monday, April 30, at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV!

Battleship Crosses the $100 Million Dollar Mark in the international market this weekend, from deadline.com:

Peter Berg’s military vs aliens actioner from Universal Pictures made the milestone in its first 10 days of international release. Through this Sunday Battleship‘s first 12-day total should reach $126.7M. The pressure is on for the film to do well in the 50 territories where it’s now open — including China and Russia — because of its advance bad buzz and very expensive budget. (The studio claims the cost was $209M while outside sources say $250M.) Battleship doesn’t open in the U.S./Canada until May 18th because the studio set a strategy to open overseas first. This weekend it debuted in another 24 territories and should gross $56M for the weekend. It was #1 opener in 16 territories this week bringing the film’s total Number One openings overseas to 37 in the last two weeks:

– It opened #1 in Russia Thursday with $2.1 million and dominated the box office there with 78% of market share.  Friday’s gross is $2.2M with a 2-day total estimate of $4.3M (LC 126.4M) — better than both Thor and Iron Man but also helped by a big theater-building push there.

– In Ukraine, Battleship also opened to #1 and was Universal’s biggest opener in history in that territory.

– In China, Battleship gave Universal its largest opening in history on Wednesday where the film grossed $3M on opening day and has gone on to make $8.2M (LC50M) in three days — more than Fast Five (LC43M).

Battleship held the #1 spot during Week 2 in Germany, Austria, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. It had very strong holds in Australia and Japan.

Universal has 14 more territories to open including Israel on May 3, South Africa on May 4, and Latin America starting on May 10.

Taylor Kitsch and Judd Apatow are the latest honorees to be added to CinemaCon's lineup for its April 26 awards gala. The annual gathering of theater owners gets under way April 23 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Kitsch -- the star of Universal's summer tentpole Battleship -- will receive the CinemaCon Male Star of Tomorrow Award, while Apatow has been tapped for the Cinema Award of Excellence in Filmmaking.

CinemaCon general manager Mitch Neuhauser praised both men in announcing the awards."Having impressed television audiences with his engrossing portrayal of a troubled Texas high school fullback in Friday Night Lights, Taylor Kitsch continues to dive into each assigned role with an incredible passion that shines through all of his work."

Kitsch is having a busy year at the box office. He starred in this spring's John Carter and also will be seen this summer in Oliver Stone's Savages.

Well, finally!!! :D
